About the Role: We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified Depot Manager to oversee our Hillston Depot.
This key role will be responsible for managing all depot operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and exceptional customer service.
This role reports directly to the Interstate Operations Manager and will work closely with the divisions other team members to optimise resources, maintain equipment and drive efficiency.
What the Role Entails: Oversee the setting up of the Hillston Depot and the day-to-day management of warehouse, yard, and wash bay operations.Manage depot staff, including rostering, supervision, and assistance with truck loading.Liaise with drivers, head office (Unanderra), and other departments on a daily basis to ensure smooth operations.Ensure vehicles are maintained and washed weekly, coordinating with other Murrell team management.Maintain compliance with Murrell Freight Services' health, safety, and company policies.Provide excellent customer service, both internally and externally, in line with our commitment to timely and professional service.Support peak period operations (Easter, Christmas) through effective rostering and pre-loading trailers when necessary.Monitor and report on the condition of equipment, ensuring it is operable and reporting any damage.About You: Proven experience in a depot or warehouse management role, preferably within the transport and logistics industry.Strong leadership skills, able to manage and motivate a diverse team while maintaining a professional approach to changing demands.Excellent communication and service skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences.Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment and handle multiple tasks effectively.IT literacy, particularly in Excel and Outlook, is desirable.Experience managing resources and labour to ensure cost-effective operations.A strong understanding of health and safety compliance, with the ability to adhere to Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and WHS regulations.Strong communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Salary + Super + Car + Accommodation + PhoneHours: Monday to Friday – 7:00 AM to 5:00 PMApply Now: If you're ready to be a part of a growing and professional team at Murrell Freight Services, we want to hear from you.
