Key Responsibilities and Functions Maintenance of parks and gardens, recreation reserves, town streetscapes, and roadsidesEstablishment and maintenance of grassed areas, including mowing in streets and parksConstruction and maintenance of garden beds and landscape featuresConstruction and maintenance of irrigation systemsInstallation of warning signs, safety lights, and barricades at work sitesErection and maintenance of traffic control devices, street signs, and guidepostsEnsure that daily routine maintenance on assigned plant and equipment is carried out; record and report any faultsEnsure that all assigned plant and equipment is returned to a depot, or otherwise securely stored at the end of the shiftUndertake minor repairs to assigned plant and equipmentReport daily any observed damage to Council assetsAccurately record daily work activities for reporting to Leading Hand/Team LeaderParticipate in knowledge/skills developmental training, or OH&S training as directedThe maintenance of strict confidentiality in any matter which may affect Council's ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers and/or contractorsParticipate in Council's after-hours call-out phone and duty roster and public convenience cleaning rosterMinimum Requirements: Relevant qualifications and experience in Horticulture/LandscapingLicences/tickets in safe operation of a variety of plant (chainsaw, tractors, mowers, etc.)Experience in parks and gardens maintenanceAbility to perform various tasks involving heavy lifting, climbing into high cabins of plant, climbing to secure loads, etc.Understanding and commitment to OH&S practices with relevant OH&S cardsTo discuss this position please contact Stuart Hall, Coordinator Parks on: or
