Municipal Building Surveyor (Shared Services)Are you an experienced Building Surveyor with apassion for delivering high-quality services in the local community? We arelooking for a skilled and motivated Municipal Building Surveyor to join ourteam. In this leadership role, you'll oversee building services across WellingtonShire and East Gippsland Shire Councils ensuring compliance with legislation,managing inspections, and supervising dedicated teams.
Key Responsibilities: Administer building services in line with theBuilding Act 1993 and associated regulations.Supervise a team of Building Inspectors, Deputy MunicipalBuilding Surveyor, and Administration staff.Process building permit applications, inspectconstruction sites, and respond to complaints and emergencies.Oversee public safety an ensure compliance withbuilding regulations, including the management f of pool safety and thecoordination of legal actions where necessary.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholdersto achieve Council goals and community outcomes.What You Will Bring: Degree or diploma qualifications with extensiveexperience in a building control related field in a relevant building controlfield, with significant experience in municipal building services or a relatedagency.Extensive knowledge of all relevant Legislation,Building Codes and Standards together with an extensive knowledge of buildingmethods, materials and practicesRegistration as a Building Surveyor Unlimited withthe Building Practitioners Board.Legal experience in the preparation of court briefsis vitalExcellent leadership, communication, andinterpersonal skills to manage a high-performing team.Ability to resolve complex problems, make decisionsautonomously, and build effective relationships with internal and externalstakeholders.What We Offer: A collaborative and supportive working environment.Opportunities for professional development andcareer growth.Competitive salary and benefits.A role where you can make a real impact on thecommunity and contribute to the region's safety and development.If you're ready to lead and contribute to ourdynamic team, apply now to make a difference.Why Wellington?
