About the role The core function of this newly implemented role is to ensure employees receive accurate wages paid fortnightly, according to the industrial relation tool and associated legislation.
We seek a qualified payroll professional to join our Human Resource Team, that is responsible for tracking and managing payroll and payroll data.
Not only will you track employee working hours, you'll calculate allowances/penalties in line with Stamford Hotels and Resorts Enterprise Agreement and cross reference with the National Employment Standards.
Also accurately processing terminations and redundancies, whilst professionally responding to employees queries about wages and deductions.
Core requirements of your role Work closely with the Heads of Departments to ensure that the payroll process runs efficiently and accuratelyResponsible for providing timely payroll service to all Hotels and all staff members, including processing payroll reports, reconciliations, and other necessary management and statutory reportingEnsure employee records are maintained accurately, factoring in overtime, bonuses and midyear annual remuneration implementationReview and update payroll processes and controls to ensure compliance with national and state-based legislation and regulations and implement improvements as requiredEnsure our HR Information System's payroll and related modules are aligned with relevant industrial instruments, payroll tax, superannuation, and leave entitlementsTroubleshoot system issues and propose enhancements with internal stakeholders whilst liaising directly with HR Information System's vendor as requiredData entry payroll preparation including new hires, exits, position and employee roster changeRespond to employee questions about compensation, taxes, benefits, and deductionsPrepare payroll reports for heads of Departments in line with monthly headcount and payroll budgetCreate payroll reports analyzing salaries and taxes paid requirement by the ATO and for internal bookkeeping functions needed in the event of pay disputesEnsure tax compliance by remitting all taxes to the Australia Tax Office (ATO) monthly under the single-touch payroll (STP) system accompanied by our Hotel AccountantProcess maternity and paternity leave adjustmentsAbout you To be considered for the role, we require an Australian citizen who has tertiary education background in accounting or business, comprehensive experience in performing payroll processes on HR Information System for over 5 years and has deep knowledge in national and state level legislation, roster and timesheet management, awards and enterprise agreement.
An eye for detail, ability to liaise with stakeholders effectively, managing timelines is a must.
Employees with experience with ReadyTech Workforce (Zambion) platform will be advantageous.
