Who are we? Manor Adventure is an independent company, leading residential outdoor activity provider. We focus on the quality of the educational sessions we offer, as well as our commitment to train and develop our staff.
We are a privately owned company with centres located in Mid Wales, Shropshire, Scotland, Norwich, and Matlock, and you may be placed at any one of these 5 centres.
Our comprehensive training programme, which includes gaining recognised National Governing Body awards, will provide you with the confidence and skills to deliver high quality, and safe, outdoor sessions. The work is extremely rewarding. Every instructor remembers the smile on the face of the first child they helped to gain confidence and overcome their fears and gain a new experience.
THE ROLE As a Multi Activity Instructor, you will be delivering up to five fun-filled sessions a day, from blind trail to underground maze, from zip wiring to kayaking. You will be the talk of the school, helping children get out of their comfort zones, overcoming fears, and having an amazing time learning outside of the classroom. You will rotate groups and rotate sessions; no two days are the same at Manor Adventure.
Are you…? A confident individual who can stand and talk in front of groups of children? A fun and playful personality. Someone who loves being outdoors and would like to pass on that passion. What we can offer you: National Governing Bodies (NGB) qualifications from English Fencing, Archery GB, NSRA (Rifles), NUCO (First Aid), British Canoeing, and RYA. A comprehensive training and development programme - we don't only develop the children's abilities; we develop the skills and abilities of our instructors to be the best there is. An excellent salary package. Extremely rewarding work. Career development prospects - we promote in-house; good instructors make good senior instructors, who then can become great Activity Managers and then possibly fantastic Heads of Centres. A fairly priced 'live in' package with good accommodation and food. Good working conditions in a professional, yet friendly team environment. Due to the nature of the business, it is desirable that you live on site. All employment offers will be dependent on a satisfactory DBS check, which Manor Adventure will pay for, and satisfactory references.
Development We pride ourselves at Manor Adventure in supporting and developing our instructors into confident individuals. We have staff start with us scared of heights but finish their time with us happy and confident at heights and helping children in a similar situation and use their own experience to help.
Training for all sessions starts on day one, with ongoing training throughout the year so all our new instructors don't get overwhelmed by the amount of sessions we provide our clients. With any areas our instructors feel like they are struggling at, our staff team is there to support and find a different way to teach you how to run a session. Not everyone learns the same, with both instructors and the children we teach.
We promote from within our company; our amazing instructors become fantastic team leaders, our team leaders become hard-working activity managers, and our activity managers go on to be successful heads of centres.
