Details of the offer

Child Welfare, Youth & Family Services (Community Services & Development) Full time About the role:
Our client has an opportunity for a skilled & experienced MST-CAN Therapist who wants to expand their skills in an evidence-based program that focuses on treating families where child abuse and neglect has occurred. It involves a comprehensive approach that addresses various systems impacting the family, such as the individual, family, community, and larger social systems. This is a permanent full-time role, based in Tuggerah.
Not familiar with the model? That's ok. Specialised training will be provided that covers both the theoretical and practical foundations of MST-CAN, which is a highly evidence-based therapeutic intervention model. You will receive ongoing support through weekly group supervision, monthly individual supervision, as well as external supervision and regular scheduled training in the model to ensure you are well supported in your role.
The skills acquired through MST-CAN specialist training can be applied to other MST programs worldwide, broadening career opportunities for Therapists interested in working in this field.
As the MST-CAN Therapist, you will be responsible for a small caseload of families, providing in-home and community-based interventions to reduce the impact of physical abuse and/or neglect, and to increase overall family functioning.
To be successful in this role, you will have: Master's degree qualification in Psychology or Social Work preferred. Consideration will be given to those with a four-year degree and relevant experience in child protection. Working knowledge in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (desirable).
