About the Role: MPK is seeking an experienced Environmental Advisor to support the infrastructure team on a 14:7 roster in the Surat Basin, QLD. Reporting to the HSE Manager, the Environmental Advisor provides a mature and professional level of environmental/engineering expertise and makes technical contributions to the project. The incumbent is responsible for:
Engaging, educating, and coaching the workforce and management team on environmental requirements. Communicating environmental requirements across the entire project. Assisting in the production of project procedures, policies, and practices in relation to the environment, sustainability efforts and emissions targets. Supporting auditing measures and carry out specific auditing duties. Collating findings and reporting data to senior environmental colleagues. Ensuring project documentation is kept current and reflects the latest sector specific regulations, standards, and practices. Ensuring improvement actions are implemented to requirements, monitored, and continuously assessed. Facilitating the entire workforce, management team and the client in the examination of each stage of the construction process to ensure and improve environmental performance and compliance. Assisting in the identification of critical improvements and innovations in the planning and execution stages of construction to ensure total compliance. Preparing weekly and monthly reports for MPK management and the client. Reporting any known non-conformances. Advising the project team on any environmental risks identified for the project. Assisting the HSE Manager with incident investigations and drafting reports. Facilitating and participate in environmental audits when required by the client and or the regulator. Managing immediate responses to environmental incidents (cleanup) and initiate and undertake and report on investigations. Assisting with HSE processes as required for operational compliance and implementation. About You: The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications & experience:
A tertiary qualification in an environmental discipline. A science-based degree including biology, chemistry or physics is desirable. Minimum two (2) completed years of relevant professional experience. Proven experience of carrying out site audits. Past monitoring experience in accordance with compliance targets and regulations. Previous provision of environmental reports. No Agency Submissions will be accepted.
