This purpose-built facility houses all ten new car brands, along with service and parts departments, under one roof, providing customers with a seamless and convenient automotive experience.Position Criteria:Pickerings is looking for skilled and experienced Motor Mechanics with a minimum of two years post-trade experience.As a Motor Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety. If you are passionate about automotive engineering and possess a strong technical aptitude, we encourage you to apply.Conduct routine inspections and diagnostics on a wide range of vehicles to identify and assess mechanical issues.Perform repairs and maintenance tasks, including engine overhauls, brake repairs, suspension adjustments, and electrical system troubleshooting.Utilise diagnostic equipment and tools to accurately diagnose complex automotive problems and recommend appropriate solutions.Follow manufacturer's specifications and industry standards to ensure high-quality repairs and service delivery.Maintain detailed and accurate records of all service and repair activities.Stay informed about the latest advancements in automotive technology and industry trends to enhance your skills and knowledge.Provide excellent customer service, communicating effectively with clients to explain repair procedures and recommendations.Adhere to safety protocols and ensure a clean and organized work environment.Collaborate with other team members, including service advisors and technicians, to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.Participate in training programs and workshops to further develop your technical expertise and stay updated with industry best practices.Helping the other mechanics and tech's day-to-day duties.Assisting manufacturers in diagnosing vehicles as required.Liaise with service advisors, parts department.Help training technicians (incl. apprentices)To be successful within these roles you will possess the following skills and attributes:Relevant Trade qualifications; Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or EquivalentExperience in one of the 14 brands is desirable however, not essentialExcellent time management/organisational skills and attention to detailA willingness to learn and an appetite for challengeDemonstrated workshop experience in detecting and diagnosing faults in engines and electrics (preferred, but not essential)C Class Manual Drivers LicenceWhat's on offer:For the successful applicant, you will be remunerated with an attractive salary.
