About the role We are seeking an experienced and motivated lawyer to join our growing Wills & Estates practice. This is an exciting opportunity for a legal professional with at least 3 years' experience in wills, estate planning, estate administration and estate litigation, to contribute to the ongoing growth of the practice.
You will work closely with and be mentored by one Special Counsel, within a larger team. Your key responsibilities will include:
Drafting and updating wills, trusts, and estate planning documents. Drafting advice to clients on estate planning matters and will and estate disputes. Assisting the Special Counsel in all aspects of wills, estate planning and estate administration including representing clients in will and estate disputes, family provision claims, and other equitable matters, and applications for judicial advice. Building and maintaining strong client relationships. About you You are a dedicated lawyer with at least 3 years of experience in Wills and Estates work. You are passionate about helping clients plan for the future and navigate complex legal processes with empathy and clarity.
Key qualifications and skills: 3+ years of experience in Wills, Estates, and Trusts law. Strong drafting skills, particularly in drafting wills and estate planning documents (i.e. enduring powers of attorneys, enduring guardianships, trusts and advance care directives). Proven ability to manage deceased estate matters including applying for a grant of probate/letters of administration and attending to the administration and distribution of estates. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently while being a team player. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
