Aurizon is looking for a dynamic Project Engineer to join our Project Management team within the Network business. In this role, you'll be at the heart of our construction projects, providing essential technical expertise, project management, and on-site coordination. You'll also play a crucial part in ensuring our projects meet Aurizon's high standards for safety, environmental responsibility, and quality.
You will be required to work closely with clients and both internal and external stakeholders to develop comprehensive project plans. This includes defining scopes of work, setting programs, and executing works within allocated closure time frames. You'll also manage cost plans and cash flows to align with the specifications and expectations of our customers, ensuring successful project delivery from start to finish.
Other responsibilities will include but aren't limited to:
Delivering asset renewal projects, maintenance and external growth projects covering general earthworks, formation, turnouts, track upgrades, level crossings and other renewal associated works. Provide support to project team throughout the entire project lifecycle, from receiving scope to project completion. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams/ stakeholder support to identify and resolve delivery roadblocks and escalate when required. Provide advice in relation to project planning and develop project cost estimates, risk assessments, development of construction methods, procedures and programs when required. Provide support and supervision to field operations, ensuring work complies with quality, safety, environmental standards and other relevant standards and legislation and foster a culture of excellence in project outcomes. Identifying design and constructability issues and assist in providing the most efficient solution. About you: Bachelor of Engineering (Civil preferred). CPEng/RPEQ qualifications (or working towards). Current Class C Drivers Licence (mandatory). Minimum of 3-5 years on site experience supervising construction teams and external contractors (essential) Previous rail asset management (preferred)and infrastructure construction experience High level of skill in planning, organising and programming of infrastructure construction projects Familiarity with WHS and Environmental legislation and ability to produce Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), understand company Quality procedures and WHS Act. Strong level of computer skills, including Microsoft and Primavera (preferred). Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills both written and verbal. Willing to commit to travel as needed and willing to relocate to Sarina/Mackay region for the role (NO FIFO/DIDO).
