About the role
In this role, you will be providing financial information, reports and analysis concerning the performance of the Directorate to promote financially sustainability.
Key responsibilities include:
Partnering with Directors, Managers and their teams to provide financial planning and analysis.
Financial planning, budgeting and forecasting for the directorate and organisation.
Providing financial advice and decision analysis support for structure and service reviews, process improvements, cost management initiatives and business cases.
Monitoring key internal and external drivers of performance and analysing the financial impact of emerging priorities, key risks and opportunities.
Championing the use of organisational data to support decision making.
Providing financial training including induction of finance systems, awareness and understanding of management accounting principles and processes.
Implementing auditable accounting practices and reporting structures to the benefit of key decision makers within the City.
About you To be successful in this role, you will have a passion to work for the City and give back to the community.
A tertiary qualification in Commerce or Accounting or related field and/or commensurate demonstrate experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
CA or CPA professional qualification (or equivalent).
Preparing and monitoring of annual budgets.
Preparation of business plans for large and complex operating units.
Demonstrated experience liaising with and influencing senior internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
