Account Management / Business Development 1 Job Number: 95466-360381 Work type: Permanent - Full Time Location: Keswick Categories: Account Management / Business Development, Business Professional About the role: Join our successful Bulk Customer and Growth team, managing customer accounts to deliver strong commercial outcomes as our newest Commercial Portfolio Manager based at our Keswick office in Adelaide.
This role will support a diverse network of operations, spanning rail, road and port logistics.
This key role will be accountable for partnering with customers and operational teams to deliver strong commercial outcomes across your portfolio of customers, both as an individual Account Manager and also as a leader of a small team of Account Managers.
Within your portfolio, you will develop and leverage your strong customer relationships to optimise current revenue contracts, whilst also driving business growth through identifying and securing new opportunities.
Key responsibilities for the role include: Build and maintain excellent relationships across your portfolio of customers and all functions in Aurizon to optimise the flow of customer information.
Be the lead expert for all customer intelligence within the portfolio, including identifying and facilitating potential future business growth opportunities or decline risks, and developing long-term strategic solutions to manage these.
Lead and manage the design and development of customer proposals, tender responses and business cases within your portfolio.
This will involve working cross functionally with Operations, Legal and Finance, and managing internal approval processes with Senior Executives.
Lead commercial negotiations and contracting processes with customers, focusing on renewing current contracts prior to expiry.
Develop and maintain active key account management planning for each customer in the portfolio.
Deliver the performance requirements of each contract within the customer portfolio through the rigorous contract performance process, including managing issues that may arise with your customers, to the satisfaction of the customer and your internal stakeholders.
Develop and/or deliver timely and accurate reports, documents and specific data as requested and/or planned.
About you: An energetic and passionate commercial lead, you will be driven to deliver customer outcomes that create value across our diverse customer portfolio.
You will be an experienced operational leader who possesses: Strong commercial experience University qualified in Economics, Finance, or related discipline (preferred) High level of management and leadership skills with the capacity to develop, implement and achieve goals and targets.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills including negotiation, consultation, facilitation and written communication skills.
High level skills in the identification, specification and delivery of customer service in a large commercial organisation Solid understanding of financial analysis and business strategy, with a bias towards making data-based decisions.
Substantial skills in working effectively and collaboratively as a key contributor to a team.
