National graduate program Gaining entrance to the Graduate Program at Maurice Blackburn means an exciting start to your legal career in one of Australia's leading social justice law firms. The 12-month Graduate Program provides a broad range of training designed to give you insight into all aspects of plaintiff law. The program encourages active participation and contribution, which enables you to be rewarded with excellent training opportunities, tangible professional development, and an insight into life at Maurice Blackburn. The Program has been specifically designed to combine formal training with invaluable hands-on experience. If required, Maurice Blackburn will also support you to complete Practical Legal Training (PLT), a necessary requirement for admission.
The Program is a national program with Graduates placed across various practice areas and locations nationally. The program will be a 12-month placement with a practice area, giving the ability to create in-depth knowledge and experience in that area of law. You will work closely with senior lawyers and partners, and other internal and external experts, and be able to build lasting relationships through legal networking events. As a Law Graduate, we encourage you to shadow experienced lawyers, attend court and client meetings, and even brief counsel.

This program offers hands-on practical experience and insight into working in the legal industry over a 12-month period. This highly successful program has been running since 2008 and includes:
An active learning environment with ongoing training opportunities; A dedicated coach to support you throughout the program. You will have a Coach and a People & Culture representative who will be there every step of the way to ensure you are supported for the duration of this program. Your Coach will share their knowledge, provide regular feedback, and guide you to be able to work independently as a Legal Support Professional.
You will be provided with in-depth training on:
liaising with clients and third parties; drafting correspondence and legal documents; professional skills and time management; managing expenses and billing; digital file management and record keeping. About the role Our Road & Work Injuries team have a unique permanent opportunity available. We are on the lookout for a Mobile Legal Assistant to join our passionate and collaborative team working closely with our specialised Lawyers.
As a Mobile Legal Assistant, you will provide pivotal legal administration support to our busy offices across Southern Eastern Victoria – including our Melbourne CBD office. Servicing our offices remotely or based in one of our Victorian offices, you will provide support by rotating between the different offices across the Road & Work Injuries practice area depending on where there is the greatest need at any given time by providing an additional level of support to those teams.
In the beginning, it will be vital to visit the office for the first month for training, to learn the role, meet the team and set you up on a pathway to success. We are open to remote and/or flexible working arrangements, depending on your level of experience and business needs.

What will your day look like Liaising with clients (both internal and external); Preparing, filing and serving of court documents and briefs; Copying, filing and preparing client and third-party correspondence; File and diary management; Opening and sorting of all incoming mail; Preparing bills for clients; Answering and managing all incoming inquiries and assist or transfer calls where appropriate; Opening new matters. The experience we are looking for You have a passion and drive to get the very best for our clients with a strong background in administration ideally gained within the legal industry. Your strong service focus with the ability to handle sensitive matters professionally and with empathy will see you make this role your own. In addition, you will have:
Experience in a Legal Assistant or high-level Administration position; Knowledge of or experience in an industry associated with road, work, and/or personal injuries will be advantageous; High attention to detail with excellent communication and interpersonal skills; The ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team; Strong ability to prioritise, cope with a fast-changing environment, and possess excellent organisational skills.
