In Papua New Guinea, Harmony owns and operates the Hidden Valley mine and owns 50% of the Tier 1 Wafi-Golpu copper-gold project. Harmony owns 100% of the Eva Copper project, a near-term copper project in Queensland, Australia. These assets are supported by the Harmony Australasia regional corporate office located in Milton, Brisbane. This role will be offered as a FIFO opportunity from/to Australia working on a 16/12 day roster. Reporting to the General Manager – Hidden Valley Mine, the Mobile Fleet Maintenance Manager leads the mobile fleet maintenance department, ensuring that all heavy equipment and mobile assets are maintained to achieve availability and reliability targets. Safety, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and strong leadership are key to drive a proactive maintenance culture. The key responsibilities of this role include:Ensure all maintenance activities comply with statutory requirements and company policies.Foster a strong safety culture through proactive leadership and continuous safety improvements.Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of maintenance activities on the mobile fleet, ensuring alignment with the company's annual budget and Life of Mine (LOM) plan.Develop and implement rolling 3, 12-month and LOM maintenance plans to optimise equipment availability and reliability.Ensure all maintenance activities are completed on time and within budget, managing resources efficiently to maximise cost-effectiveness.Develop mobile fleet department annual budget aligning to LOM plan and asset maintenance strategy.Oversee maintenance expenditure and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring costs are controlled and aligned with the company's financial objectives.Manage supplier relationships to ensure cost-effective procurement of parts, services and new equipment.Identify areas for staff development and provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and technical guidance.Manage labour hire contractors, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specialists, and suppliers for parts, support, and new equipment to ensure cost-effective and efficient maintenance operations.Oversee the maintenance and lifecycle management of mobile fleet assets, ensuring adherence to condition monitoring, preventive maintenance, and asset management best practices.Implement continuous improvement initiatives by utilising diagnostic tools and analytical techniques (e.g. Root Cause Failure Analysis and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).About You:You should be a self-motivated professional holding the following qualifications and experience:Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Mining), or trade equivalent qualifications.Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in maintenance and reliability, ideally within the mining industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a management role.Demonstrated experience in heavy mobile equipment maintenance, asset management, and lifecycle optimisation.Advanced knowledge of maintenance on heavy earth-moving equipment, including diagnostics, technical enhancements, and plant operation tools.Expertise in cost management, budget control, and ensuring that maintenance expenditures are in line with financial objectives.What are the benefits of working for Harmony?The opportunity to work for an international mining company with a diverse workforce.Work for a company who values their employees and recognises their contribution.Excellent safety record.Corporate / discounted rates with Medibank and Qantas Club.Access to Harmony's benefits discounts scheme.Successful applicants must be able to meet the requirements for a PNG Work Permit application (organised by Harmony) and a Federal Police Clearance.
