In April 2023, our commitment to a sustainable future saw the beginning of the Dugald River Solar Farm operations, supplying a third of the mine's power, and reducing emissions by 33%; this is just the start of our renewable energy transition.
Manager – Human Resources & Training As the Manager – Human Resources & Training, you will report directly to the General Manager and operate as an integral part of a high-performing, results-driven leadership team.
In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor, leading HR and training initiatives that support both the strategic and operational goals of the site, while ensuring alignment with MMG's overall business objectives.
In this site-based leadership role, your partnership with departmental/ divisional leaders will be critical as you contribute to establishing stable and sustainable operational performance, ensuring our diverse workforce is well-positioned now and poised for growth into the future.
This role is available on a variation roster of an 4/3 x (3), 8/6 with drive in, drive out options (DIDO) from the local Cloncurry or Mount Isa Districts or FIFO from Townsville or Brisbane.
Qualifications, competencies & knowledge highly desired: This role requires extensive experience in a relevant site operational leadership role including human resources, organisation development or business partnership functions within complex industrial environments.
Strong experience managing cross-functional teams, collaborating with diverse senior stakeholders.
Demonstrated expertise in industrial relations and employee relations, including negotiating enterprise agreements and resolving complex workplace issues.
University qualifications in a commercially applicable discipline; business, human resources, industrial relations, or organisational psychology with preferable post graduate qualifications.
Current and valid driver's license.
Key Responsibilities: Contribute to the development and execution of strategic, business cycle, and functional improvement plans, ensuring alignment with MMG's quality and timeliness standards.
Offer expert guidance and solutions on complex industrial and employee relations issues, ensuring compliance with employment laws, enterprise agreements, and company policies.
Lead and manage the HR and Training team to provide exceptional support in general HR practices, talent acquisition, workforce planning, and professional development.
Act as a change agent, leading and facilitating site-level change initiatives and culture shifts, while ensuring effective communication, stakeholder engagement, and minimal operational disruption.
Champion a culture of safety, compliance, and employee engagement, integrating these principles across all HR and training activities.
