What you'll be doing
The Pregnancy Connect Medical Lead provides leadership and clinical expertise within the Murrumbidgee Tiered Perinatal Network (TPN) working collaboratively with the Pregnancy Connect Coordinator, Maternity Co-leaders, and individual sites within their district and TPN to support implementation of all aspects of Pregnancy Connect.
The Pregnancy Connect Medical Lead should have a detailed knowledge of service capabilities of all facilities within the MLHD and ACT Tiered Maternity and Neonatal Network (TMNN) and will be responsible for:

ensuring that timely and expert clinical advice is always available within the TPN, particularly in time critical situations (including for maternal transfers)
establishing and ensuring clinical outreach models of care are available, including virtual care
supporting and building capabilities of regional and rural maternity care providers
participating in quality and safety activities, including case review, data analysis and reporting.
being the key contact for the perinatal transfer advice for the TMNN.

The Clinical Lead will work closely with the other Clinical leads across NSW/ACT and MoH partners.
Applications are invited from a suitably qualified Obstetrician & Gynaecologist for the above position in the Murrumbidgee Local Health District. The position will be located at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital or Griffith Base Hospital Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Selection Criteria

Possess or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Possess Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology or equivalent specialist recognition as provided for by the Health Insurance Act 1997 and Staff Specialists (State) Award, and Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position.
Sound clinical knowledge in Obstetrics & Gynaecology with interest in the management of high-risk pregnancies, basic ultrasound skills and knowledge of the Tiered Perinatal Network (TPN), demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position including evidence of participation in quality assurance activities relevant to the specialty.
High level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrated commitment to teaching and junior medical staff supervision consistent with contemporary best practice supervision standards.
Demonstrates the skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical /Dental Practitioner including modelling of a high standard of professional behaviour to junior medical staff.
Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic, applied, or clinical research as required within the Department.
The ability to travel to other sites within Murrumbidgee Local Health District may at times be required.
