Job Description The Mixologist creates bespoke cocktails and mocktails, provides prompt and courteous drink orders at the bar or through the bar servers, while delivering a bespoke experience for guests. Responsibilities include suggestive selling, taking orders, serving them accordingly, performing side work as required, and cashiering functions. He/She trains bartenders and handles all operational equipment.
General Duties Greet guests, present the menu, assist with guest choices, make suggestions, take orders, and serve food & beverages according to standard procedures. Set up the bar at the start of opening, including liquor, icing, glassware, juices, and garnishes. Process drink orders in proper calling order directly from service staff, checking for the correct number of drinks and managing billing quickly and efficiently. Make all cocktails in accordance with beverage standards, using full standard measures. Limit problems and liability related to excessive drinking by persuading customers to stop drinking or ordering transportation for intoxicated patrons. Ensure that the bar is stocked and all side opening and closing duties are completed. Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment. Assist with cleanup, including mopping floors, removal of cans and bottles, general cleaning of rails and counters, and removal of melting ice in bins. Check on guest satisfaction, attend to guest needs and complaints with proper follow-up by informing Management or Senior Team Leader. Present checks, perform cashiering functions, bid guests farewell, and invite them to return. Maintain cleanliness of the workplace by performing clearing functions. Attend all meetings and training sessions as conducted. Create bespoke cocktails and mocktails for new menus. Perform food runner duties as required. Answer phone calls. Carry out light cleaning and maintenance of the bar/restaurant. Dispense beverages. Take table reservations and effectively control the flow of guests in the restaurant. Comply with hotel and department policies and procedures at all times. Help implement work simplification and necessary changes. Ensure mise-en-place is carried out before each shift. Follow up on proper billing procedures. Qualifications Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience as a Bartender. Strong skills and knowledge to teach young Bartender colleagues. Great knowledge of beverages, liquors, and infusions. Excellent skills in handling guest challenges and opportunities. Experience in a luxury five-star hotel is a must. #J-18808-Ljbffr
