Mixed Crop Farmer, Fruit and Vegetable InspectorPunjab Australia Pty Ltd operates a 100 acres commercial horticulture operation in Glenreagh near Coffs Harbour encompassing growing, harvesting, packing and distribution of fresh produce to domestic markets.
We are looking to fill two positions:
Mixed Crop FarmerFruit and Vegetable InspectorOur operations are situated 30 minutes North West of Coffs Harbour.
As a part of the team, you will be responsible for managing the growing or inspecting (as applicable) a range of crops including a variety of vegetables, fruits, and other horticultural crops.
The Mixed Crop Farmer duties include but are not limited to: Planning crop growing activities including seeding, fertilising, harvesting and other matters to ensure the maximum yields are achieved from crops.Directing and overseeing all crop growing activities including seed planting, pruning, irrigation, fertilising, pest control and weed control.Maintaining crop production and optimal growing conditions.Maintaining and evaluating records of farming activities to plan crop preparation and production to meet company requirements and customer demands.Ensuring that farm standard operating procedures are carried out correctly and safely, assisting in the development of the procedures and safety standards.Selecting, training and supervising staff and contractors.The Fruit and Vegetable Inspector duties include but are not limited to: Inspecting fruits, vegetables, and agricultural produce for quality issues, providing guidance to grower or farmer.Auditing and monitoring farms, food handling, and processing facilities for compliance with quality standards specific to fruits and vegetables.Testing samples for quality, size, and purity of produce.Ensuring hygiene standards are upheld in storage, processing, packing facilities, and transport vehicles for fruits and vegetables.Advising farmers/owners on quality control and informing stakeholders about risks related to diseases and impurities in produce.Providing guidance on identifying pests and diseases in fruits and vegetables and advising on regulations for grading, packing, and loading.Examining fruits, vegetables, seeds, and related products, making quarantine arrangements when necessary.Educating and advising on a wide range of topics related to fruit and vegetable protection.The successful applicant(s) will be offered competitive pay ($70,000 - $85,000 AUD annual salary + super) depending upon experience.
