OverviewStellar Solutions has an opportunity for a Systems Engineer in Australia to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services focused on Continuity of Operations (COOP) and protection of mission systems.
Relocation assistance is provided as well as housing stipend, cost of living, and other allowances for the duration of the tour.
Role/Responsibilities/QualificationsThe successful candidate will:
Directly contribute to government's mission success through comprehensive analysis, thought leadership and proactive action on COOP and mission protection activitiesSupport the development, training, assessment, periodic exercises, and improvement of the site COOP plan and contingency checklistsCollaborate with internal and external entities for activities associated with site and mission inspections and report findings and recommendationsCoordinate and support assessment of mission essential functionsSupport Weapons and Tactics teams by assessing current and emerging threats; contribute to space protection doctrine, strategies, plans, architectures, and associated requirements; provide vetted analysis and recommendations to improve space protection architectures and capabilities; develop threat mitigation tactics, techniques, and procedures.
Train operations personnel on threat mitigationMonitor and evaluate war games and exercises (as requested), capture and assess lessons learned for best practice implementation to further improve space protection effortsDefine solutions for broad, abstract topics, succinctly capture risk and issues for the customer and provides analysis and recommendationsReview documentation, represent government as required in forums that support streamlined delivery of new capabilities and standardization of integration effortsRequired: Must be a US CitizenActive TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraphBachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) or relevant field, and nine (9) years or more relevant experience; Masters in STEM or relevant field, and seven (7) years or more relevant experienceKnowledge of satellite constellations, spacecraft orbit, and ground station characteristicsIn-depth knowledge of satellite operations and satellite components (bus and payload) and associated ground systems and related mission protection topicsKnowledge of orbital mechanics; analyzes and readily articulates pros/cons of orbital changesSelf-starter, reputation for successfully anticipating and proactively addressing customer requirements with minimal supervision; ability to manage multiple tasks and deliverablesPolished communicator (written/verbal) with impeccable interpersonal skills and personal judgment; master at collaboration and coordination with multiple stakeholdersSuperior data management/data visualization skills and use of appropriate toolsAbility to work independently and with a team, operate effectively with contractor, SETA, FFRDC, and Government teammatesExperience with Jira, Confluence, Systems Tool Kit (STK)Desired: Familiar with Digital Engineering/MBSE, AGILE development, cloud technologiesReal-time operations experience as a spacecraft or ground systems operatorSuccessful record of project management experience with delivered systemsDeliverable(s)Deliverables will be in the format of reports, briefings, spreadsheets, or other documents as directed by the Government.
