Ministerial Services is seeking to establish a pool of Ministerial Liaison Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2025 and up to the end of December 2025. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
The Ministerial Services Unit is the conduit between the Department of Education and the offices of the Minister for Education, Minister for Early Childhood Education and Minister for International Education. It ensures efficient processes are in place to coordinate the flow of accurate, time-critical and sensitive information. Ministerial Services has responsibility for Ministerial responses, correspondence, Parliamentary and Cabinet processes.
The Role As a Ministerial Liaison Officer, you will assist in coordinating requests from the Ministers' offices and liaise with senior officer and other department staff to deliver high-quality and timely responses. You will have opportunities to work across a variety of areas with an interesting and diverse subject mix.
Well-developed communication skills and a keen eye for detail are essential for this role, as you will provide guidance on clear, effective writing that aligns with government standards and ministerial requirements.
To be successful in this role you will establish effective working relationships, enabling you to work collaboratively with the Ministerial Services team and staff across the Department, and problem solve to balance multiple priorities and competing deadlines and ensure all timeframes are met.
