Ministerial and Government Relations LeaderThe role consults and advises internal and external stakeholders to prepare accurate and timely advice and high quality responses on a range of issues.
The Ministerial and Government Relations Leader provides effective and timely liaison between TEQ, the Department and the Minister's Office. The role consults and advises internal and external stakeholders to prepare accurate and timely advice and high quality responses on behalf of TEQ on a range of issues relating to the tourism and events portfolio. As part of the Office of the Chief Executive Officer, this role also works with other team members in the delivery of their responsibilities.
This role is a temporary maternity leave backfill until 24 October 2025.
Manage and review ministerial and agency documents (briefing notes, reports, memos, parliamentary briefs, etc), including content and quality control.Provide written and verbal advice and communications to high-level stakeholders including Minister, the TEQ Board and Executive.Build strong working relationships with colleagues within TEQ and across broader government agencies and the Minister's Office to liaise, advise and influence responses to Tourism and Events matters.Coordinate specific projects as required including the Service Delivery Statement and Budget Estimates preparation.Reporting as required to fulfil TEQ's function as a statutory body.Represent TEQ on department committees as required.For this role, we will consider your: Excellent written and verbal communication, relationship, advisory and negotiation skills.Knowledge and experience working in and/or with systems of government.Ability to manage projects with excellent organisational and time management skills.Ability to adhere to quality standards/relevant style guides and review administrative and document management processes to recommend and implement improvements.High level of resilience and attention to detail while operating in a high pressured environment with competing priorities.Experience in building team capability, while inspiring individual and team commitment in the pursuit of results.To apply please submit your resume and a cover letter which outlines your skills and experience to the requirements above.
