Job Description Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, you will be mentored by some of the best in the business to support and drive the mining operation. You will be responsible for designs and schedules that are operationally and technically robust to maximise value. About the Role Producing robust mine designs for fleets of shovels, excavators, dozers and drill & blast Provide options to maximise value through mine design and scheduling Interacting with a large range of stakeholders to ensure success Taking the mid term designs and optimising into the short-term space Liaising with key stakeholders in Tech Services team to ensure models and data are accurate and fit for purpose Weekly presentations to Mining team to discuss & refine proposed plans and implement accordingly Day to day planning through to 12 months Project work in a variety of key areas including civil construction, mining, environmental etc. Working with consultants and contractors to achieve desired outcomes Involved in continuous training and personal development within the Tech Services area Exposure to mine scheduling of a large fleet of Mining Equipment across 5 active mining areas Maximising productivity for dig units on site Haulage modelling and optimisation Being a role model for safety on site Roster and Location Monday to Friday professional roster Based on site at HVO (off Lemington Road) About You A commitment to the best practice of health, safety environment and community at all times Excellent planning, organising and influencing skills Experience with Vulcan, Deswik or other mine design software would be highly desirable Prior experience in Mining, Civil or Heavy Industries is preferred with a drive to develop a career in Open Cut Mining Previous experience with scheduling in the mining environment (advantageous) Ability to succinctly develop quality reports and be able to communicate findings with a variety of key stakeholders including Senior Leadership Team High level communication, influencing and negotiation skills Exceptional computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint) Lateral thinking skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in the workplace Employee benefits include: minimum five weeks annual leave market competitive salary a safe and enjoyable workplace where everyone is respected valued and empowered structured training and development to support you progress your career education assistance a generous incentive program health and wellness reimbursement program paid parental leave salary sacrificing options private health insurance subsidies Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
