Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, the Mining Engineer's role is to support the Mining team to develop and produce from designated ore blocks. This role requires a combination of technical and operational skills. Mine scheduling, Mine design and operations support are the major areas of responsibility, as are:Maintaining leadership safety standards within the Mine Operations Team.Ensuring mining standards are met.Establishing and maintaining a proactive safety culture.Tasks and ResponsibilitiesMaintaining leadership safety standards within the Mine Operations Team, ensuring mining standards are met.Establishing and maintaining a proactive safety culture.Develop and execute mining methods for upcoming ore production, in conjunction with the Mine Foreman and Geology team.Assist with the preparation weekly plan by the Mining ForemanMine Design for development and productionCo-ordinate any consultants work on mine design.Assist with monthly ventilation.Collaboration with consultants within the mining department.Develop and execute the mining methods for the upcoming ore production, in conjunction with the Mine Foreman and Geology team.Direct meetings, reviews and interaction with Mining crews and technical personnel underground, on a day-to-day basis, to ensure smooth delivery of development metres and production, to ensure efficient and productive ore mining to maximize grade recovery.Qualifications and ExperienceMandatory:Degree in Mining EngineeringPrevious Underground Mining experience (minimum 2 years will be considered)Experience in working in a narrow-vein mining methodsExcellent interpersonal, team building skills and organisational skillsExcellent oral and written communication skills at all levels (internally and externally).Manual C-Class Driver's licenceProficiency with Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook)Proficiency with specialist software packages (Deswick)Demonstrated ability to prioritise and be flexibleCoolness under pressure, good team memberCapable of getting along with a wide range of people in an underground and office environmentShow respect and support for members of the teamCompleted at least 1 full year of Underground experienceExposure to/knowledge of VentsimExposure to weekly scheduling processesAble to prioritise task depending on importantResidential mine, located centrally in booming Ballarat - live close to home, no more FIFOExcellent remuneration and benefitsExcellent roster (8:6, Wednesdays to Wednesdays)Free car parkingUniforms supplied and fully laundered on siteFlexible, supportive, and fun team environmentOngoing training and professional developmentOn-site gym and health benefitsAt the Ballarat Gold Mine, we are equal opportunity employers.
