As a large open cut mining operation in the Northern Territory, McArthur River Mining (MRM) allows you the opportunity to make a difference in a fast paced and exciting environment.Safety is the focal point to the success of MRM. Everyone at MRM is responsible for contributing to the operational disciplines that ensure we are all safe - this is critical in our day-to-day work.Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, you would be accountable for developing daily and weekly schedules that are in-line with the monthly schedule and will achieve monthly targets. This is to be completed through detailed planning, engaging stakeholders, understanding of monthly schedules, projects and costs, dump construction methodologies and long-term strategies. Driving processes that involve validating inputs and reconciling previous performance is the responsibility of the engineer and are an integral part of the planning process to ensuring the most efficient plan can be developed. These include the short-term dump design process and weekly reconciliation process.About the role: Creation of weekly schedules and assisting with monthly scheduling of pits and overburden emplacement facility.Provide guidance for other technical staff, planners and support at planning meetings.Liaise with Maintenance teams to optimise equipment maintenance scheduling.Process owner for short term overburden placement facility design work and inspection processes.Responsible for weekly reconciliation of data to ensure it is correct and updated according to business requirements.Liaise with a range of internal stakeholders to ensure optimisation of resources to meet the mine plan.Provide expertise and guidance on overburden emplacement facility sequence and construction methodologies.Ensure all designs are compliant with MRM policy.What we offer:15 days on, 13 days off – FIFO roster.13% super.Career progression and professional development opportunities.Salary sacrifice for Superannuation and vehicles.Exclusive access to Glencore rewards program, offering discounts on a wide range of well known companies.Long life mine.About You:Bachelor of Engineering majoring in Mining or similar relevant tertiary qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.Demonstrated knowledge of mining engineering systems in open pit metalliferous mines that includes a minimum of three years' experience.Previous experience with mine design and scheduling software (Vulcan, Deswik).Over burden emplacement facility management experience.Strong planning background with demonstrated success in improving efficiency and achieving mine planning.For further information, please contact:Via Email: Glencore employees applying for this role may be asked to discuss this with their Supervisor or Manager prior to an interview taking place.Please note: We may conduct interviews and hire prior to the advertising expiring.
