About the RoleAn exciting new opportunity has become available for a Permit Officer to join our Group Operations team at the Loy Yang Mine as we aim to be the best and most reliable supplier of brown coal in Australia.
As a Permit Officer, you will assist with the management and coordination of the permit resources to ensure availability as required with a keen focus on health, safety and maximising work output.
Providing technical and expert knowledge on permit-related issues to mine personnel and contractors, you will ensure resources are allocated to the appropriate tasks.
You will be working on a 9-day fortnight roster during training with a view to change to a 3x12 Day work roster pending approval.
What you'll be doingAssist with day-to-day operational management of permit systems, ensuring employee awareness of requirements and operational procedures.Plan and coordinate work, in accordance with permit resources and employee availability.Manage resources to ensure a safe work environment, whilst maximising work output.Provide technical support and training in appropriate use of the permit system.Ensure appropriate resources are available to perform and assist with routine and breakdown maintenance and inspections.Manage the testing and maintenance of all High Voltage operating equipment and other PPE as required.About YouTo be successful in the role, you will have similar working experience in Permitting within a Heavy Industrial setting and a 'safety conscious' mindset.
What you'll bring to the tableHighly developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.Experience in the planning, issuing, isolating & close out of permits.
(For example Electrical, mechanical, hydraulic & pneumatic)Advanced conceptual, reasoning and analytical skills in order to assess risk, develop solutions and manage priorities.A strong focus on compliance and safety, with an ability to provide technical expertise with the use of heavy mining plant and equipment.A technical qualification that provides competency in the isolation of plant and allows authorisation for access to industrial equipment.
