We believe our approach delivers lasting benefits to our Shareholders and customers, but importantly, to the communities where we operate.QMAG offers a career in the resources industry while allowing a home every night family focus while living in a coastal climate.The Mine Manager (SSE) is responsible and accountable for leading and motivating site operational activities at our Kunwarara mine safely, effectively across all the mine's metrics in line with the QMAG values.This position will also be a member of the company's Senior Leader Team (SLT) and as such has oversight and contribution to the greater QMAG business, assisting to deliver the QMAG vision and strategic goals.About YouYour knowledge and skills are vital to your success in this role. Your experience will also include:Extensive experience in leadership roles within mining or heavy industry, with a strong resume of developing and mentoring a diverse high performing teamExperience and focus on executing delivering within financial budgets. Attention to detail with cost control and complianceExposure to modern management systems and their application with a proven success record of problem-solving complex issuesExperience in managing projects from inception to completionDemonstrated experience in initiating, contributing to, and supporting continuous improvement initiativesEffective communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels with all stakeholdersAbout The RoleAs the Mine Manager (SSE), you will:Ensure compliance to all statutory/regulatory requirements through the development of annual plans that include actions, reporting and auditing and tenement managementProvide business leadership by providing the resources in accordance with QMAG's systems, policies and procedures and reportingProvide business leadership to establish and implement effective programs and processes to improve labour effectiveness, operational costs, product quality, employee relations, optimize inventory levelsLead & promote the implementation Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement strategies across the mine, plant & maintenanceDevelop and maintain good relations with neighbours, community, contractors, all relevant government bodies (local, state and federal)Lead the development and ongoing executional management of the Kunwarara mine budgetLead the prompt reporting and investigation of all accidents, incidents, (including near misses), and breaches of company policies and/or procedures.The RequirementsWe are looking for candidates with the following:Formal qualifications in Management and/or EngineeringRII50120 - Diploma of Surface Operations Management or higherRIIRIS501E - Implement and Maintain Management Systems to Control RiskAuthorised to hold the Statutory Site Senior Executive position in QLDTraining in continuous improvement or best practice techniques10 years minimum experience leading operational teams and operationsQMAG Benefits and CultureYou can look forward to working within an inclusive corporate culture that puts people first and always ensures our employees' health and safety.
