The mine is committed to a low-carbon future. In April 2023 the Dugald River Solar Farm began operations, supplying a third of the mine's power, and reducing emissions by 33% and this is just the start of its renewable energy transition.Dugald River employs around 750 employees and contractors on a mix of fly-in, fly-out and local residential basis. Mine Manager – Dugald River Mine (QLD)Reporting to the General Manager, the Mining Manager is a key member of the Site Leadership Team. This is a rare and unique opportunity to join the site leadership of a global mining organisation with a vision for ambitious growth and an enviable record of community engagement and sustainability. The role is available on a FIFO (Brisbane or Townsville) or drive-in drive-out basis (DIDO) from the Cloncurry or Mount Isa Districts. The role will operate on an 8/6 roster. Relocation support will be available for successful candidates who reside outside of one of our point of hires.This role manages the underground operations and Mine Technical Services at Dugald River, including all mining personnel, contractors, mining activity and ancillary works. Your key deliverables will be: Developing an excellent safety culture within the operations teamCreate a high-performance culture that ensures the Dugald River Mine meet targets through efficient well planned and safe mining activities and ensure all targets are achieved.Coordinating with the Mine Technical Services department to develop and implement the mining plan,Optimise the operations through coaching and developing your people to enable them to take personal ownership of their roles and responsibilities on site.Ability to deliver through people is vital. About youTo be considered, you must have: Skills, qualifications and experiences in complex mining environments that demonstrate the ability to make sound operational decisions.Demonstrate expertise in establishing cultures and systems that imbed a safety awareness as well as managing multi-disciplinary mining teams. Demonstrated achievements in underground mine management, base metals and change management and the ability to leverage the resources and industry of the local regions in which they operate within will be advantageous.Essential to the role is a Tertiary degree in Mining Engineering and extensive proven underground operational experience.
