About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Geologist to optimise the value of Maules Creek's open-cut coal resource at our operations in the Maules Creek Mine. Through collection and analysis of geological data and tracking of production, the mine geologist plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and sustainable extraction of resources.
This is a site-based role working a 9-day fortnight roster. Temporary accommodation & relocation assistance is provided. DIDO options may be considered.
What You'll Do
Key duties will include:
Provide effective support, assistance and advice to the mining, CHPP, Technical Services and Marketing departments. Collect and maintain information for the structural database, ensuring accurate short-term geological models. Monitor the production plan implementation, lending insights to improve efficiency. Assist/co-ordinate exploration activities in input and near mine areas for future expansions of the mine, focusing on safety, site selection, and inspection. Drive main contributions for the medium- and long-term geological model of the deposit by means of reviewing and interpreting new geological data. What You'll Bring
Tertiary qualification in Geology or related discipline. Two years of mining experience in an open cut coal mine. High level analytical and problem-solving skills.
