Stawell Gold Mines is an underground mine located, 236km north-west of Melbourne and a short distance to the major centers of Ballarat and Bendigo, as well as at the foot of the natural wonders of the Grampians National Park.
This historic region is known for its rich heritage in the exploration, discovery, and production of gold.
We are looking for a dynamic and results driven mining professional with a strong focus on safety to join our Mine Technical Services team.
This position will be a permanent full-time engagement on either an 8/6 or 7/7 roster.
Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, the responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to) the following:
Optimization of ore extraction through effective mine design and planning processes.
Development, Stope, Drill & Blast and Backfill Designs.
Reconciliation of Stopes.
Technical support to the operations in relation to short term planning and related project tasks.
Assist Short Term Planning with preparation of the Weekly Schedule.
Monitor and track compliance to the weekly and monthly plan.
Mine Ventilation and Services.
Ventilation surveys and planning.
UG inspections and quality control.
The successful candidate will possess:
Bachelor of Engineering - Mining or Equivalent.
2+ years' experience in hard rock.
Completion of statutory underground experience desirable.
Competent user of Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word, Excel.
Experience in mining software: Deswick, Surpac, Mine2-4D, EPS, Mining systems/methods.
Be an effective participant and contributor to the Technical Services team.
Good interpersonal skills, leadership skills and be business focus.
