Full timeGroup 6 Metals – ATPL is looking for an experienced Mine Accountant to join the Commercial team at the Dolphin Tungsten Mine.ROSTER OPTIONS – FIFO (Tasmania or Victoria) or residential rosters on offer.Why work for us?Group 6 Metals – Dolphin Tungsten Mine has a culture that is defined by our everyday behaviours and indicative of our Values: Teamwork, Trust, Inclusion, Safety and Sustainability.The key objectives of the Mine Accountant are to provide accurate and timely information relating to the mining operations and provide accounting and procurement services and support to the site management team.Key Accountabilities & ResponsibilitiesAssist in the preparation and maintenance of accurate financial records, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.Ensure timely and precise financial reporting to meet internal and external requirements.Analyse financial data to identify trends and variances and provide insights to management.Assist with the R&D grant application.Prepare FES applications.Account Reconciliations.ABS Returns.Cost Control and Budgeting:Monitor and control mining-related costs to optimise operational efficiency.Collaborate with operational teams to develop and manage budgets for mining activities.Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies for cost reduction.Compliance and Audit:Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and legal regulations.Prepare for and assist with internal and external audits.Maintain documentation and records for audit purposes.Inventory Management:Track and reconcile mining-related inventory, including raw materials and finished products.Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.Coordinate stocktakes to ensure accuracy and compliance with inventory management procedures.Conduct financial analysis to evaluate the performance of mining operations.Provide data-driven recommendations for improving profitability and efficiency.Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and projections.Cross-functional Collaboration:Collaborate with mining and site management teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.Work closely with procurement, logistics, and other departments to streamline financial processes.Collaborate with the site leadership team to analyse and understand costs, providing valuable input for decision-making.Compile Site Management Reports and Commentary:Prepare comprehensive site management reports with financial data and analysis.Provide commentary and insights to accompany the reports, highlighting key findings and areas of improvement.Collaborate with site leadership to ensure the reports align with strategic goals and objectives.Using PRONTO ERP System:Utilise the PRONTO ERP system for effective financial management and reporting.Job RequirementsBachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA or CA certification preferred.Proven experience in accounting and financial analysis, with at least 2 years in a similar role.Proficiency in using the PRONTO ERP system or similar ERP software.Knowledge of mining operations and related financial considerations is a plus.Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Attention to detail and ability to work independently.Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance standards.Previous experience in supervising and leading accounts teams.Ability and willingness to work flexible (sometimes irregular) hours.If this sounds like the right role for you then click 'apply' and submit a current Resume and cover letter.Applications close on the 2 January 2025.
