About the innovative new service The Distress Brief Support (DBS) service is being trialled and evaluated in several other states across Australia and is modelled on Scotland's Distress Brief Intervention program. Working in partnership with Primary Care Connect, Mind Australia will provide an intensive 14-day community-based approach. This service utilises members of the community to provide immediate compassionate support to people who are experiencing distress. This place-based approach will normalise people's distress and provide appropriate supports to prevent further psychological distress. About the role As a highly self-motivated Program Coordinator, you will listen to the voices of people with diverse lived and living experience of psychological distress to inform every step of the co-design phase. In this role, you will supervise the Co-design team during the planning and establishment phase. You will implement the insights from the co-design process to create a comprehensive operating model, whilst developing operational procedures and a learning and development plan for people working in the service.
Key responsibilities Working with key stakeholders to develop and plan the initial co-design phase of the service. Build a stakeholder engagement plan and ensure ongoing local partnerships. Provide feedback on priorities for the region through appropriate forums and meetings to ensure key deliverables are met. What you'll bring Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health or other health-related field. Lived or Living experience of mental distress and recovery is desirable. Proven experience in Community Services, Mental Health, Healthcare or other related sectors. Experience working directly with people who are experiencing psychological distress. Experience developing and implementing new services and the ability to positively engage with local communities.
