About the role Reporting to the Director of Patient Safety and Improvement, the Risk Manager will lead and support the organisational response to risk and incident management as well as receiving and effectively managing patient experience and consumer engagement. The incumbent will provide leadership in maintaining an organisation-wide risk management framework, promote a proactive risk management culture and facilitate the implementation of risk and incident management governance processes across MBPH.
Provide strong leadership in promoting a positive risk and incident management culture across MBPH. Implement and monitor adherence to the risk management framework across MBPH. Lead the collation, evaluation and reporting of appropriate risk management performance indicators and audits. Promote and facilitate the organisation-wide use of the adverse event and near miss reporting systems. Facilitate investigative reviews in relation to adverse events, near misses and complaints, including, but not limited to, Root Cause Analysis and In-depth Case Reviews. Compile data and reports for Board, Executive and committee review as scheduled or requested. About you Degree in health-related discipline with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a quality and risk services role is mandatory; relevant post-graduate qualifications are desirable. High level of knowledge and understanding of the AS ISO 31000:2018 risk management standard and the Victorian Government Risk Management Framework. Experience with clinical governance; quality frameworks and improvement methodologies in a health-related setting. High level of self-confidence with the ability to express views in a constructive and diplomatic way. An ability to successfully relate and communicate with staff and consumers from varied backgrounds in a professional manner. Flexibility to operate in an environment of change and continuous improvement.
