Midwifery Research Associate or Research Fellow Your new role
We have an exciting opportunity available for a passionate Midwifery Research Associate or Midwifery Research Fellow to join our high-performing team on a fixed-term (12 months, commencing in January 2025), part-time (0.6 FTE) contract.
In this role, you will work on a variety of established and emerging projects. The program of work is highly innovative and adopts a range of approaches, leading research that is already improving the health outcomes of women, children and families and advancing the midwifery profession. The successful applicant will need to be employed as a midwife within the Women and Newborn Health Service (WNHS) concurrent to this Research Fellow role. With the support of Dr Bradfield, you will work with the world-leading Graduate Research Internship Program at King Edward Memorial Hospital.

A one-page cover letter, Your CV (max 5 pages), and A separate document addressing the selection criteria (noted below, max 3 pages) to allow us to assess your suitability for this role. Selection Criteria Demonstrated knowledge and experience in conducting high-quality research including grant writing, protocol development, ethics applications, stakeholder consultation, data collection, qualitative and quantitative data analysis and reporting. Must hold registration as a midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. Evidence of a record of research outputs in high quality refereed journals. Evidence of innovative communication strategies and mediums to reach a variety of key stakeholders and target audiences. Evidence of high-level organisational skills with demonstrated proficiency in project management to meet established goals. Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with a range of stakeholders including industry executives, study participants, students and staff with cross cultural sensitivity and respect. Demonstrated commitment to applying relevant and applicable policies, procedures and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the functions of this position. Desirable A doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline (for example, Public Health, Midwifery). Demonstrated experience or desire to participate in the supervision of HDR students. A history of successful competitive grant applications. Preference will be given to applicants who are employed (or willing to be employed in a midwifery position) within the Women and Newborn Health Service. Required for the Research Fellow (ALB level) A doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline (for example, Public Health, Midwifery).
