We are seeking a highly motivated Midwifery Nurse Unit Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical and interpersonal skills and have a strong commitment to safe and effective care for women and families. This role offers the opportunity to lead a team with a 'hands-on' approach in a collaborative environment, enhancing maternity care delivered at Ararat.About Us: At East Grampians Health Service, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional healthcare to our community in a range of services. Our innovative Team-Based Maternity Model integrates antenatal, birthing, postpartum, and domiciliary care provided by our committed obstetricians and midwives, ensuring a continuum of care for women and families.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage the midwifery team, fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment with the multidisciplinary team (including onsite Obstetricians).Strong participation in organisational clinical governance while implementing and maintaining high standards of care. Preparing and presenting maternity cases to the local and regional meetings.Ensure compliance with evidenced-based practices, policies, and regulatory standards. Strong oversight and management of practicing within the local capability framework.Foster partnerships and collaboration with key stakeholders in the Grampians region. Promoting and expanding the maternity service where appropriate.Mentor and support Midwifery staff in their professional development and clinical practice, working towards a sustainable workforce into the future.Qualifications:Registered Midwife with current AHPRA registration.Leadership experience in a maternity setting.Strong knowledge of evidence-based practice in midwifery.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Experience in a regional or rural setting.General nursing in medical/surgical wards.Emergency or Urgent Care Centre experience.How to Apply: If you are passionate about providing exceptional maternity care and want to be part of a progressive team, we would love to hear from you.
