About the office/schoolThe National School of Nursing & Midwifery Sydney Campus invites applications from Registered Midwives to apply for a position as a Lecturer, to teach into the National Graduate Diploma of Midwifery & the National Graduate Certificate of Contemporary Midwifery, our newly accredited programs.
About the roleThis position is responsible for making contributions to the teaching effort of the institution, at postgraduate certificate and diploma levels, and to carry out activities to develop their scholarly, research and/or professional expertise relevant to the profession or discipline.
Key ResponsibilitiesEngage in teaching and assessment in midwifery courses offered by the UniversityDeliver, develop, and coordinate courses in the midwifery disciplineSupport ongoing curriculum development and quality assurance processes for all aspects of internal and external accreditation requirements for the SchoolLead quality activities including peer review and benchmarking activities and course reviewSupervise Graduate Diploma students and act as subject coordinatorsSupervise the program of study of honours students or postgraduate students engaged in courseworkBe active in the recruitment of students and the marketing of the programs offered by the SchoolPerform interim and summative evaluations of courses and make recommendations about relevant changes requiredWork collaboratively with other academic staff members to ensure coherence and quality in all aspects of the academic programQualifications, skills & experienceLevel B Academic staff member with qualifications in midwiferyMust have a Masters' Degree in a relevant midwifery/health-related topicRegistered as a Midwife in Australia with significant recent clinical midwifery experienceA demonstrated ability to provide high-quality teaching in a University setting and experience with course coordination and academic governanceA demonstrated ability to develop teaching resources and deliver courses in a variety of formats, including the effective use of online learning managementWell-developed understanding of contemporary issues in midwiferyWell-developed understanding of curriculum development, accreditation, and current issues in higher educationExcellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a teamBenefitsFast-paced environment with opportunity for professional growthGenerous training and development opportunitiesFriendly and collaborative working environmentHow to applyPlease apply online with a resume and cover letter outlining your suitability for the role.
