The Midwifery Director is responsible for operational and strategic leadership of Midwifery Services for the South West Hospital and Health Service (SWHHS) and to ensure midwifery services operate at a high level, ensuring the best outcomes for women and the family across the SWHHS.
The SWHHS currently provides midwifery services at our three hub sites: Roma, Charleville and St George.
The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that evidence-based, contemporary and location-appropriate maternity services are available to women and their families across the service.
This is assisted by ensuring productive and welcoming relationships with local community organisations as well as health service stakeholders (i.e.
not limited to Royal Flying Doctor Services, tertiary birthing facilities and visiting specialist services).
