As the lead Midwifery Advisor working within the Office of the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer of NT Health, your primary objective is to provide strategic and operational advice to influence contemporary midwifery practice across multiple regions of the Northern Territory.

This role provides strategic direction and policy advice for the midwifery profession to the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer, NT Health, and the Minister for Health. It involves innovative and flexible critical thinking to support midwifery initiatives and achieve key outcomes within the NT Health Nursing and Midwifery Plan.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and collaborate on service development, review, and evaluation, ensuring alignment with professional standards and policies, and supporting operational effectiveness and safe healthcare delivery. Ensure the delivery of consistent nursing/midwifery services across various practice areas. Advocate for and represent the nursing/midwifery profession within NT Health. Demonstrate and uphold NT Health values (safe, responsive, kind) in all interactions. Adhere to service quality standards and work health and safety policies to maintain high-quality, safe services and workplaces. Promote a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership and behaviour modelling.
To be successful you will need highly developed knowledge and consolidated experience in midwifery models of care, as well as senior leadership. Demonstrated ability in policy development, strategic planning, leadership and change management are desirable. Tertiary qualifications at Master's level and membership to the professional body would be well received.
