About the role Good Shepherd Catholic College, Mount Isa is seeking an experienced and dedicatedMusic and Arts/Cultural Curriculum Leader.
This position is a Full Time, Permanent teaching role with a 3 year fixed term appointment to the Middle Leader position.
This role is a Full Time position, commencing 20 January 2025.
While this role will see you working in a Middle Leader capacity, the position will also include a component of classroom teaching as part of your duties.
The Music and Arts/Cultural Curriculum Leader supports the mission of the College through leadership of specific academic, cultural, outreach, sporting or other defined programs offered to students and/or the College community.
The Music and Arts/Cultural Curriculum Leader will interact with students, staff and parents as well as developing and implementing effective processes and practices in keeping with the values and ethos of the College and designed to accomplish the desired outcomes of the specific program.
Depending on the nature of the program, the Music and Arts/Cultural Program Leader may also interact with personnel and organisations outside the College community and establish partnerships that enhance results for students.
Key Accountabilities The position of the Music and Arts/Cultural Curriculum Leader is responsible for:
Leading the arts and cultural program in the College Supervising teachers and teacher aides engaged in the program throughout the College Induction of new teachers and teacher aides within the program (or supervision of induction where it is undertaken by another experienced teacher) Pastoral care of staff within a designated area of responsibility Contributing to the leadership of the College through active participation in staff and middle leadership meetings Regularly communicating with the Senior Leadership Team regarding issues of interest or concern. Other appropriate duties as required by the Principal and Senior Leadership Team The Arts and Cultural Leader will achieve this by:
Coordinating the work of staff engaged in the development of students Monitoring the development of students through their academic, social, spiritual and physical well-being and addressing areas of concern Monitoring program outcomes for students and addressing areas of concern through appropriate interventions Organising program activities for the College including resources, transport and operations etc. Engaging in professional discourse with staff engaged in the program on an individual and group basis through regular feedback Keeping abreast of developments within the program area through on-going professional reading and research, and providing for the professional learning of staff with these developments Supervising the quality of staff practice through collegial support, advice, observation and facilitation of reflective response Administration of available resources To join this vibrant school community, you'll need To have knowledge of and commitment to the Catholic ethos and mission of the school To be able to work as a member of a committed team of professional teachers, dedicated to providing quality teaching and learning in partnership with the parent community To have an understanding of contemporary pedagogy and the ability to differentiate, and provide for, a diverse range of abilities To have an ability to collaborate and work positively as a part of a professional learning community To have a willingness to change and develop instructional strategies to increase student growth and achievement.
