The firm has a strong reputation in the industry, with 3 accredited specialists (out of 39 in Qld) in succession law, and recognition in 'Best Lawyers' and 'Doyles' guide over multiple consecutive years.Our head office is in Queensland however we offer an Australia wide service.
Our quality client base continues to grow and we are now looking for an additional lawyer to join us on a remote working basis in the Sydney region.
We have a serviced office in the Sydney CBD which you can utilise to witness documents and meet with clients as required.This is a specialised practice, so the work, precedents and processes are that of a top tier firm.
If you are looking for flexibility in your work day and want to avoid the lengthy daily commute, but don't want to compromise on the quality of the work or clients that you get, then please apply.What is the position?We are looking for an experienced wills and estates lawyer with a passion for estate planning who is wanting the flexibility of work from home arrangements, yet still wants to be part of a smart, collegiate team.As an experienced lawyer within the estate planning team, you'll have the opportunity to:Provide advice on a variety of client matters, including estate planning for blended families, estrangement, clients with entities, testamentary trusts (including protective provisions for vulnerable beneficiaries).Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders, offering empathetic and sensitive guidance.Communicate effectively with clients via zoom / Microsoft teams, as well as in person as needed.Work closely with other senior lawyers in the team.Work with comprehensive precedents and processes that have been built by our specialists for over 15 years.Not have to worry about securing your own appointments, as the firm has strong and broad referral relationships with other professional organisations.Have a realistic budget and strong admin support to ensure work/life balance and plenty of admin support to support you.You will conduct most of your meetings via zoom / Microsoft teams, but you will be expected to attend the Sydney CBD visiting office 1-2 days per week (as required) to meet with clients to witness documents, etc.
You will have a mix of NSW clients and clients from Queensland and Victoria (full training on these other jurisdictions will be provided) and for interstate clients we will arrange witnessing in those jurisdictions.You will have the full administrative support of the Queensland head office, which comprises of 12 admin team members, as well as the admin support at the Sydney CBD serviced office.The position is full time, but applicants wanting 4 days a week may also apply.Who are we and what do we believe in?Estate First Lawyers is a unique law firm with 10 lawyers focused on delivering sophisticated estate solutions for medium to high net worth individuals and their entities.

Other areas (including estate administration and estate litigation) will be considered.High level organisational skills and a proactive, 'can do' approach.Good IT skills to be able to communicate effectively on zoom / Microsoft teams.Computer, printer, scanner and fast Internet connection.Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly to clients.Strong drafting skills and eye for detail.Ability to think creatively and problem solve.A collaborative, team approach.An equal enjoyment of client interaction and doing the technical work.As this is a work from home position, a level of autonomy and experience is expected.
