6 month contractFlexible Working ArrangementsAbout Our ClientOur Client is a Council located in Victoria's Northern Suburbs who serves a vibrant community with a rich cultural mix and takes strong action on climate and environmental issues.Job DescriptionResponsibilities :Develop and implement strategies in climate and environmental risk management, water conservation, and circular economy.Coordinate projects supporting Waste and Recycling Strategy and Watershed.Provide expert advice to stakeholders, including Council teams, community groups, and businesses.Lead innovative environmental initiatives, building partnerships and securing funding through grant applications.Monitor compliance with environmental regulations and contribute to Council's leadership in sustainability.Identify environmental issues and develop preventative solutions, interpreting and applying relevant standards, regulations, and statutory requirements to programs and tasks.Conduct research, analysis, and reviews of environmental matters to make informed decisions.The Successful ApplicantAbout you :A tertiary qualification in environmental science, engineering, or related fields, or equivalent experience.Expertise in environmental risk management, contaminated land, water conservation, and the circular economy.Proven skills in project management, stakeholder engagement, and strategy development.Outstanding communication and problem-solving abilities.Proven experience in research, strategic thinking, and technical report analysis.What's on OfferAn inclusive workplace committed to your development and well-being.Flexible work arrangements, including a 9-day fortnight.The chance to make a real difference in a progressive and environmentally conscious community.
