The Opportunity We are looking for a Principal (External Audit) to join our Audit division. This position reports directly to the current Partner. We are looking for someone who is technically proficient and possesses high level interpersonal and communication skills. You will be able to step up and demonstrate your strong auditing abilities while engaging in responsibilities including:
Involvement in the management of client relationships; Mentoring team members; Providing clients with superior audit services. As a key player at MGI Joyce Dickson, your role will include execution of high quality financial statement and statutory audits in accordance with relevant International and Australian Audit and Accounting Standards. You will also be involved in the active supervision and coaching of our junior audit staff and be actively involved in monitoring client requirements and delegation of appropriate work to junior level audit staff. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the audit partner and be able to contribute to answering complex technical issues.
The Successful Applicant To be considered for this position you will ideally have:
Degree in Business/Commerce, Law or relevant subjects; Completion of CPA or CA post graduate qualification; 8+ years experience in an external audit role; Strong attention to detail; Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team; Commitment to continuing professional development. You will also:
Demonstrate high ethical standards in all professional dealings; Demonstrated ability to complete all aspects of audit engagements within time and budget constraints; Demonstrate practical understanding of audit procedures, workpapers and financial reporting requirements; Be able to prepare financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards; Have appropriate professional and technical skills required to demonstrate a good application of audit approach; Have good knowledge and understanding of Australian reporting requirements; Be able to manage your own workload and ensure that work is appropriately prioritised.
