About the role: Reporting to the MetroMap General Manager, the purpose of this role is to make MetroMap more competitive with market features and functionality, delivering regular improvements with strong clearly defined value and revenue generation. This role will take responsibility and action the strategic planning and execution of the MetroMap Product and Platform roadmap, platform (web map viewer) and services (API's).
A key aspect of the role will be overseeing the quality, performance, security, and scalability of the product and platforms, and ensuring that they align with the companies' objectives. This role is a crucial link between Customers, Sales & Marketing, ICT and the Software Engineering teams, and it will require working closely between all these stakeholders to deliver successful product improvements. Customer facing engagement alongside the sales team will be a critical element of the role, for both new prospects and existing clients.
The role is also responsible for the management and mentorship of MetroMap Support Team – providing support, coaching, feedback, guidance and communication on a regular basis, in addition to carrying out annual performance reviews.
Key Responsibilities: Detailed understanding of the spatial industry, competitors, partners and market analysis to guide the long-term product vision and strategy. Develop a product roadmap for the MetroMap Business Unit, ensure seamless product functionality, decide on backlog prioritisation, and take the product vision toward completion. Define and deliver quality features and services based on data analysis, customer needs/feedback, and Business Unit initiatives. Develop and document detailed and clear product requirements that can be used to create product specifications with clear revenue gains. Contribute to the MetroMap Business Unit budget, resources and revenue generation planning Engage regularly with stakeholders, partners, and customers to ensure understanding of their business needs, as well as our internal technical capability, to drive solutions and stay competitive. Ensure all Sales and Marketing activities are fully supported by the MetroMap Product and can be scalable and automated where possible. Ensure the Sales & Marketing team are fully trained and aware of Product to ensure successful conversion of opportunities and renewals. Collaborate with the Sales & Marketing Team to communicate product launches, updates, progress, and challenges to internal and external audiences. Collaborate with the Software Engineering Team to ensure the product requirements are clearly understood and can be technically delivered. A key component of this is managing priorities and ensuring business expectations are managed through Agile Sprint Management. Collaborate with the Support and Software Engineering Teams to analyse data and metrics to monitor product performance and any platform issues to identify opportunities for improvement. Collaborate with ICT and other Corporate Services to ensure cyber security, the financial system (Recurly) and other business systems (SalesForce) are updated and able to scale with any new Product development. Align with 3D and Lidar Business Units to ensure cross product learnings and integration of other product families into MetroMap roadmap future capabilities. Manage a team of technical support coordinators, to deliver high-quality software products and platforms that meet customer needs and business goals. Establish and foster a culture of innovation, excellence, and collaboration within the team, and provide coaching, mentoring, and feedback to help them grow and succeed. Manage team leave, timesheets, and performance reviews. About you: Bachelor's Degree. 3+ year experience as a Product Manager, preferably in SaaS or DaaS industries. 2+ years working in the geospatial industry, either with software, data providers, or as a customer.
