Key Responsibilities: Provide customer service (online and offline technical support) – phone & email;Provide technical guidance and work with other engineers to refine concepts, system and component designs, and support other staff to improve their skills and knowledge;Work on a variety of different machines and systems - guillotines, mills, lathes, presses, CNC plasmas, fiber lasers;Organise tools and equipment to perform jobs safely and adhere to machine safety procedures, standards, and regulations;Diagnose problems, modify, replace, and install mechanical assemblies, parts, and components as required;Troubleshoot, repair, and control hydraulic and pneumatic systems;Analyse, test, collect data, and carry out complex mechanical assemblies and gear adjustment and modification on different machines;Prepare drawings and layouts of parts to be made for the process of precise gear and mechanical assemblies;Undertake on-site maintenance, machine and equipment installation, machine calibration and inspections, on-site machine commissioning and training, and breakdown repairs;Optimise, improve, and design mechanical systems, machine functions, and control systems for efficiency and reliability;Liaise with workshop staff;Assist with dispatch & pick packing duties when required;Assist Technical Support Coordinator with some admin work (email customers after 2 weeks' dispatch; take service calls, monitor emails & create activity; get warranty evidence from customers; contact overseas suppliers for warranty parts, product improvement document).Requirements: Previous experience in mechanics, strong mechanical background, metalworking machinery industry, and customer service (desirable), a minimum of 3 years' experience in a relevant field;Ideally have a qualification in Advanced Diploma of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;Physically fit;Excellent verbal and written skills with strong attention to detail;Be able to travel interstate for work;Ability to work in a team environment;Excellent problem-solving skills;Well-read and able to interpret technical drawings;Exceptional problem-solving skills and focus;Be able to utilise computer-aided design (CAD) software.What's on offer: An opportunity to work at the No.1 metalworking machinery distributor in Australia;Permanent full-time opportunity;Competitive salary and benefits package: $75,000 - $80,000 plus Superannuation;Good career advancement and professional development;Be part of a successful team;Provide a car for work.Apply directly or send your resume to
