We have a current vacancy for a highly skilled and safety focused Qualified Metal Fabricator to join our team located in Warrnambool, Victoria. In this role, you will be required to work alongside a crew of like-minded tradespeople to deliver maintenance onsite.
ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to fabricate custom metal parts as per design specificationsUse various welding and metalworking techniques (MIG, TIG, ARC welding) to create, assemble, and repair metal components used in plant machinery and equipmentPerform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of plant equipment, machinery, and infrastructure to ensure smooth production processesOperate and maintain tools such as saws, grinders, drills, and lathes for precision fabrication and modificationsEnsure that all fabricated metal components meet safety and quality standards. Inspect completed work for defects and ensure compliance with specificationsAdhere to strict health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment, including the proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)Work closely with the maintenance team and plant operators to address equipment breakdowns, production line needs, and other fabrication requirementsSKILLS/EXPERIENCE: You must have a certificate III in engineering (fabrication trade preferred) or other related industry qualificationRelevant welding certifications (e.g., MIG, TIG, ARC welding) and knowledge of metalworking tools and machineryStrong experience in a similar role will be highly regardedSelf-motivated, problem solver & team playerBe punctual and reliable, well organised, tidy and efficientHave strong interpersonal & communication skillsBasic computer literacyYou must have the right to work in Australia (38 hours/week)You must pass a drug & alcohol test and be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical if requiredYou have already had a Q Fever vaccination or are willing to participate in the vaccination processWHY JOIN US?
