Meriton has designed, developed and built more than 78,000 award-winning apartments and some of the tallest residential towers across the east coast of Australia. Meriton offers sales, leasing and property management services, as well as the luxury hotel accommodation brand Meriton Suites with 23 locations nationwide.
We are seeking a Project Architect or Project Lead (unregistered) for a full-time position to hit the ground running working on documentation projects from post DA approval to completion.
The job has a strong focus on construction documentation.
Project types you will be working on are predominately multi-residential and mixed-use buildings.
You will be a motivated individual with drive and flair, joining our outgoing and experienced team to become a key part of the construction process of some of Australia's most exciting upcoming developments.
Your new role Managing external consultants to refine design, external finishes, internal layouts and detailing, as well as identify and maximize value engineering opportunities Lead and manage our in-house documentation team to deliver multiple projects Preparing project briefs and reviewing project scopes/fees Managing process and ensuring timely delivery of projects and documentation Ensure projects are properly costed at all stages of design development to ensure they are delivered on budget Ensure quality design which responds to market demands and reflects sales departments requirements Manage and maintain Meriton Design Standards Liaise with internal management for necessary approvals/sign-off at key milestones Good understanding of planning controls (NSW & QLD) and building regulations (BCA / NCC and relevant Australian Standards) What you'll need to succeed Minimum 8-10 years post-graduate architectural experience is required Registered Architects are preferred Previously strong experience in an Architectural role In-depth construction knowledge with good documentation and on-site experience (important) Good understanding of planning controls (NSW & QLD) and building regulations (BCA / NCC and relevant Australian Standards) and strong Construction knowledge, particularly with the BCA and experience taking projects from initial inception to site Prior experience running and managing projects, dealing with clients, consultants, team members and other relevant stakeholders Strong under pressure- you will be dealing with site staff, architects, builders and working closely with senior internal staff A high proficiency of Revit skills with years of practical use An in-depth portfolio of projects in ideally all of the aforementioned project sectors Ability to perform well in a fast-paced, collaborative, team environment Meriton provides an exciting and dynamic work environment, with the opportunity to work on some of the most significant and exciting large-scale projects in Australia.
