About the Role:Our Mergers and Acquisitions team is responsible for managing the screening, evaluation and execution of merger and acquisition opportunities to capture inorganic value for Woodside. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Analyst to join our high-performing team.
The M&A Analyst role supports the development and execution of transactions by providing comprehensive valuation analysis, due diligence, and support to negotiations for large and complex transactions. In this role you will have the opportunity to undertake detailed financial and commercial analysis across a range of both sell and buy-side transactions.
Duties & Responsibilities:Guides opportunity framing for investment decisions including sourcing and overseeing valuation inputs from various internal and external sources, providing advice on identified gaps, deficiencies, and risks.Develops and maintains financial models (primarily using Microsoft Excel) to perform valuation analysis in support of M&A transactions and commercial negotiations.Conducts risk and uncertainty assessments to identify and clearly communicate analytical insights to facilitate decision-making and negotiations on specific transactions.Assists in the preparation of internal reports, presentations, and transaction documents.Coordinates due diligence activities, managing data rooms and Q&A processes, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and diverse stakeholders to facilitate successful transactions.Contributes to ongoing enhancements of processes and methodologies to maintain the centre of excellence for M&A within the company.Assures analytical work produced by team members.Skills & Experience:What we expect from you:
We are looking for an experienced analyst who has performed at a similar capacity in a large international corporation, leading investment bank, or large consulting/advisory firm.You will have a Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering or other related discipline.You will have an in-depth understanding of valuation methodologies and value drivers, including discounted cash flow, risk analysis and corporate financial analysis.Exhibit strong numerical skills, coupled with methodical organization and adaptability to challenging and dynamic work environments, and capable of managing competing priorities.You will understand the importance of getting it right, with a track record of providing high quality, accurate and robust analysis for M&A transactions.You display confident communication skills, both verbal and written, and excel as a team player, coordinating internal and external stakeholders.Recognition & Reward:What you can expect from us:
