** Mentor Role Overview Goal Indigenous Services are seeking a motivated and empathetic Indigenous Employment Mentor to join our Melbourne team in January 2025. In this role, you will provide personalised guidance and support to Indigenous job seekers, assisting them in securing and succeeding in meaningful employment.
This position offers flexible hours, allowing you to make a significant impact while balancing your personal commitments.
Key Responsibilities Employment Mentorship: Provide one-on-one support to Indigenous job seekers, including resume building, interview preparation, and job search strategies.
Career Guidance: Help mentees identify career goals and opportunities, offering advice on career development and advancement.
Networking: Connect mentees with relevant industry contacts, community resources, and employment opportunities to enhance their job prospects.
Support and Encouragement: Offer continuous support and motivation to help mentees overcome challenges and stay focused on their career objectives.
Program Feedback: Contribute to the development and improvement of mentorship programs by providing insights and feedback on program effectiveness.
What We're Looking For: Experience: Proven experience in employment mentoring, coaching, or a similar role, with a focus on assisting Indigenous individuals in their career development.
Cultural Understanding: Strong understanding of Indigenous cultures, values, and employment challenges, with the ability to provide culturally sensitive guidance.
Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with mentees and stakeholders.
Commitment: A genuine passion for supporting Indigenous job seekers and a commitment to a flexible part-time schedule of 15 hours per week.
Qualifications: Relevant qualifications or experience in employment services, career counselling, or a related field are desirable.
