An opportunity exists for an experienced Psychologist to become the APS 6 Mental Health Unit Manager of a health facility delivering services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) members in Enoggera Health Centre. This is a dynamic role, working within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day management of the mental health unit and be directly responsible for managing a wide range of administrative and coordination activities to ensure the provision of high quality health care.These duties include managing workforce rosters, budget allocations and workplace health and safety requirements, as well as conducting governance and quality assurance activities. As a psychologist, use of clinical knowledge and skills is important in ensuring service delivery processes are safe and efficient and that there is technical support and oversight available to subordinate clinicians.Another key aspect of this role is leading a small team and engaging with other relevant stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for ADF members. The APS6 Mental Health Unit Manager position is part of Joint Health Unit - South Queensland and is based at Enoggera Health Centre, Gallipoli Barracks, Enoggera, and QLD. Each Joint Health facility provides a range of services which can include medical, nursing, dental, physiotherapy, mental health, rehabilitation, and in-patient care.This position reports to the Health Centre Manager at Enoggera Health Centre in Brisbane.Our Ideal CandidateAn enthusiastic self-starter, our ideal candidate will have experience in mental health, managing teams and be confident in working independently. They will be comfortable with managing change and responding to short notice tasks. They will have the ability to anticipate, identify, and respond to changing priorities.
