Job Description: Mental Health Triage Program Manager Royal Melbourne Hospital Senior clinical leadership role responsible for our mental health triage program.Ensure consumers and carers of the service are provided with high quality evidence-based care.Full time, ongoing position.Your new team The purpose of the Mental Health Triage Service is to provide a single point of entry to the North Western catchment of Melbourne and deliver a timely and consistent response. Triage provides an initial phone risk and mental state assessment, referring either internally or externally as appropriate. The effective delivery of high quality psychiatric services requires a high level of consultation and liaison with a wide range of community services and agencies. The triage service is a crucial function at the interface between the community and the mental health services. The service is accessible, intensive, comprehensive and responsive to the needs of the clients, their carer and families. All contacts to the triage service will be operated via the telephone system. It is a 24-hour service 7 days a week. Royal Melbourne Hospital Mental Health Services (RMH - MHS) is committed to working with consumers during their recovery by offering holistic and evidence-based (EB) treatment, which is inclusive of family/carers and provided by clinicians with well-developed skills. Our service strives to create the best possible learning opportunities available to complement and support both emerging and existing expertise. Staff are required to actively participate in their own practice development by engaging in available learning opportunities within the service, as well as being committed to sharing their knowledge with their colleagues. You will work closely with clinicians, other practice leaders, and the service leadership team to support our vision "Make a Difference, Every Time, Every Opportunity…"
Your new role: Participate as a member of the RMH – MHS leadership team.Contribute to organisation-wide and service/division initiatives and planning activities.Ensure that the teams you manage are providing high quality services to consumers and their families/carers.Operate as a self-motivated, enthusiastic and well-organised mental health leader with a passion for provision of high quality, recovery focused services.Manage a broad range of issues simultaneously and prioritise effectively.About you: AHPRA registered Psychiatric Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Clinical Psychologist; or AASW registered Social Worker (see Position Description for details).Extensive and recent experience working in the clinical field, particularly experience in the delivery of triage/acute mental health services.Demonstrated organisational and management skills in a multidisciplinary mental health setting, including the ability to manage human and financial resources.Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) and demonstrated ability to initiate, problem solve, negotiate and communicate with staff, consumers, carers and other service providers.Please click here to view the full Position Description.
