Are you passionate and motivated to improve the lives of youths in out-of-home care, or those living with mental disorders? Are you vigilant and able to resolve conflict to deal with practical issues to support others and achieve outcomes? Additional attributes we are looking for include:
Prior experience and knowledge in supporting individuals with mental health needs, and managing challenging behaviours.Demonstrates patience, emotional resilience, effective listening skills, with adaptable communication techniques and cultural considerationsStrong ability to advocate for others and develop sustainable support networks.Capable of making a positive impact both independently and as part of a team to achieve common goals.Resilient, with the ability to adapt to challenges and remain focused under pressureProficient in using IT systems on both computer and mobile platforms.About the Role
We assist & support individuals (consumers) in their own homes and community to develop skills and abilities to gain independence to complete day to day tasks. Our goal is to enable rather than do, to promote independence, development and confidence of the individuals. Our success will enable them to have the voice and choice to thrive in their local communities. We are currently hiring casual positions with a range of shifts, including overnight shifts.
The role entails:
Provide 1:1 or 2:1 support for consumers in residential, SIL and community settingsMeet the consumers' needs according to established behavioural support plansDeveloping professional relationships with consumers, their care team and others in the communityProviding accurate and timely case notes so that others can provide a consistent experience for consumersProvide support to assist consumers to work towards their individual goalsIt is a requirement of this position to meet all compliance requirements concerning NDIS Work Screening, Working With Children's Check, work rights and possess a current & valid driver's licence.
